Food Security in the area

Klipfontein, an informal settlement near the airport formally demarcated under Phillipi, is currently experiencing acute food insecurity. This means that at least 20% of the population is facing severe food shortages, leading to malnutrition. Food insecurity is more than just hunger; it refers to a lack of consistent access to food due to various factors. Moderate food insecurity can lead to reduced quality or quantity of food consumption, while severe food insecurity can result in days without eating, posing significant health risks.
