This call to action aims to increase attention to and investment in action for women’s and single-headed women’s household nutrition and food security by empowering women to take control over their nutrition and overall health. Women represent a substantial portion of the malnutrition burden; focused attention will drive strategic and rapid progress towards South Africa’s nutrition targets, and other global goals linked to women’s nutrition and food security.
